Porter

Porter's had a little spring cold and hasn't been allowed to hold his sister, which is KILLING him. I caught him trying to touch her and play with her and said.
Me: Porter how many times do I have to tell you not to touch your sister?
Porter: Ummm, Eight!

Memorial Day 2009

When there's no graves to go and visit for Memorial Day what do you do? You head out to the Beach:) We missed being around family, and even going to the cemetary, (my mom thinks the tradition will be lost with the next generation.) But we had a good day and we got to have Brandon home with us for most of it. That night we had a BBQ with some friends in our ward and had some good conversation with the adults while the kids ran around and took turns making each other cry, mixed in with Porter sneaking as much cantaloupe as he could, it turned out to be a great Memorial Day.

The girl who refused to take a binkie has now found her thumb. I don't know what to think about it yet.

Logan's favorite part of the water fountains is the squirt guns, he loves spraying people and getting them wet.
Porter had a great time karate chopping the water fountains that shot up out of the ground.

Rocker Girl

This is Olivia's favorite thing to do these days, rock out with her saucer. I'm trying to think of a way to downsize it so that we can take it to Utah, but probably won't:( I got this at a garage sale last summer for $1.00, and I am definitely getting my money's worth.
I have long been an admirer of Jon Schmidt's ability to arrange music and play the piano. Watch the video, and tell me what you think.

Bright Spots

Well to say the least these last few weeks have been rough. But I don't want to blog about it, so here are the bright spots that have happened.
Who knew that goggles could entertain little boys for hours.
I got these knitted boots when Olivia was born, aren't they so stinkin' cute.
Brandon built us a little garden, or him like I said before I have black thumbs. The boys "helped" build it by coloring on it. Now hopefully some food and flowers will grow.
Trying out the goggles on Olivia

Hanging out at the park with a friend who are boys are going to miss.

And our little sweetness.

Olivia 4 Months

Are sweet little girl is growing so fast. She is 16 lbs 13 oz, and is 26 in long. She's in the 97% for both her height and weight and then in the 50th for head. My boys always had bigger heads, go figure. This last month she is entering into my favorite stage where she's more playful and still loves to be held but doesn't have to. She absolutely HATES tummy time and just screams. I keep thinking her fit will force her to roll over but it hasn't yet. She loves her excersaucer, and sitting up in her bumbo. She is no longer safe to "prop" up on her own because she lunges forward and falls off the couch. Good thing babies bounce right. Her hair is now long enough that I can put it in piggies. The first day I did it Logan said, "now she looks like a girl." So maybe now I won't get anymore people asking me if she is a boy or a girl. I was at walmart the other day and a lady was admiring Olivia and asked if I had other kids, my boys weren't with me. I told her I had 2 boys and she said, "You are so blessed." I have to agree, I feel very blessed.

If only...

Logan: Mom can you transform my transformer?
Me: Not right now, I'm feeding Olivia and need 2 hands.
Logan: If only you had 3 hands like an Alien, then you could do it.

Visitors

The last 2 weekends we've had company. The first weekend my dad and his wife came to see us. It was a good visit. We didn't do a whole lot, just hung out and played. It also rained a lot and they were both shocked by how much rain we got in one weekend. Welcome to the midwest.

We went swimming at their hotel pool, which was a lot of fun. The boys LOVE to swim. I had bought this swimming suit for Olivia last year when I found out I was having a girl. It's 6-9 months so I thought for sure I would be safe in the size, NOPE! It barely fits her. The leg holes barely fit over her thighs:)

Anyways, here are more pictures of their visit. Unfortunately I didn't take very many pictures of when they were here so here are the few we have.

My dad with the kids and Olivia.

The next weekend our good friends the Yorgason's looped around to our house. They were visiting Kyle's sister who lives in Indiana and willingly came and stayed a couple of nights with us.
It's amazing how fast the time goes. These kids practically hung out every day until they were 3. It's fun to see them growing up and still liking to play together.

Once again I didn't get very many pictures, so Lisa will you send me the ones you took.
They came to church with us, and helped me out during sacrament since Brandon had to work.
We love having friends and family come to visit. Hopefully during this next year we'll get to know Michigan better so that we can actually take people to places that are fun.
Now we can get ready for our big trip to UTAH, less than a month away, Wahoo!

Happy Mother's Day

We've had visitor's the last 2 weekends and I'll post about that soon. I just wanted to say Happy Mother's Day to every mother I know. I was going to list names but then it got too long and I know I would accidently forget someone and feel horrible. I feel blessed to know so amazing women and to be able to celebrate them on this day. Especially for my mom who at times haven't seen eye to eye but as I get older and realize how little I know am always looking to her example for help. Also to my mother in law who raised such and wonderful man who is hard working, honest and who will work side by side with me. Happy Mothers day everyone.

Why?!?

Anyone who know's Brandon and I know that we love our diet coke. Well last night I decided yet again that I was going to quit drinking it. It just wasn't tasting as good as it used to, and blah, blah, blah. Today out of habit I opened one up for lunch and BAM, it was the best diet coke. The taste was delicious, the burn was amazing, and it was perfectly chilled. So for now my love affair with this drink has been re-kindled, and I ask the question, "Why do I even try?"
