What the?

I thought I had another year to get ready, in a year it would be easier than now right??? So here's the story.

I started searching for some information on preschools through the elementary schools on monday. When I was talking to a lady she asked Logan how old he was and I said he'll be 5 in November, her response, "He'll be starting Kindergarten this fall then, our deadline is Dec. 1st." What the?? So I got all the information I could on his school and found out, not only is it just kindergarten, they're piloting all day kindergarten at that school. I must of seemed overwhelmed over the phone because I was told to just breathe. My baby boy is going to be going to kindergarten. I know we can hold him back, but he wants to go so bad. It will be cheaper than putting him in preschool, it's free compared to 130.00 a month for preschool. It will be okay right??

The search is over

We have finally found a place to live. After a long few weeks of searching and a full day of looking, we have finally found our "home". It's a 2000 sq ft town house. It has 3 bedrooms, and a full basement. There's also a park across the street, which will hopefully makeup for not having a yard of our own.

The city is called Royal Oak, Michigan. This is the most yard we get from here.

The blue toilet pretty much sealed the deal for us. We saw that and thought, "this home is for us."
This was a great find and we feel very lucky to have found it. Hopefully it works out great.

Oh my goodness

Twilight on MTV.com Any and all twilight lovers out there have got to look at this link. I was probably one of the biggest skeptics out there, Robert Pattinson as Edward? I didn't see it. Now I cannot wait until December 12. Check it out. (Even those on dial up, it's definately worth the wait.)

Long time no blog...

It's been a while since I last blogged. There just hasn't been anything too exciting going on. So here's some pictures to show what we've up to at our house.

During the priesthood session, we went to dinner with the girls and boys who aren't old enough. This is Logan with his cousin Madi, who he just thinks is about the coolest girls he knows.

Since we've been here in Utah Porter and his cousin Colton have become great little friends. When I babysit Colton has become my second repeat. He wants to do everything Porter does and they both love to make each other laugh.
The boys flew kites with Brandon on one of the many windy days.
Building forts is always at the top of the "fun" list with my boys.
Playing dress up is another favorite thing to do with them. They love to play pirates and super heroes.

Next weekend Brandon and I are going to Detroit to find a place to live. We're hoping we can find something nice. We've got a good list of places to look at. Thank goodness for Craigs list, what did people do before internet?

Calling all Bishop cousins

I tried to post this on the bishop family blog, but for some reason I'm not able to. So if any of you who are reading this will pass on the info, that would be great. (I will still try posting later).
I have an idea of getting together for Family Home Evening and cleaning out Grandma's house on Monday ***April 14th***. We can get some pizza, I'll bring some boxes if there is anything anyone would like to have. They can take it away.
What a great opportunity to teach our kids and learn ourselves service. I think it will be fun, so I hope everyone can make it. So pass on the info to those around you, siblings and so on. Let's start around 4:30 or 5 and come when you can, and stay as long as you can. Thanks for your help.

Bowling

This weekend our friends came down from Salt Lake and spent Saturday with us. We took our kids bowling and it was so much fun. First off the bowling shoes for little kids are so cute. Porter wanted to keep them. We played side by side with our families. Let's just say the bowling genes are not with us. Well maybe with our boys, but not so much Brandon or I.

Logan thought it was so cool to push the bowling balls down the ramp. He wanted to use the biggest and heaviest balls he could. He got "the money shot" a few times. As the Blacks called it.

Porter had other things on his mind like the ice in Daddy's cup needed to be eaten. So he would walk up to the ball and count, "1, 2, 3," and then turn around and go back to eating ice.

It was kind of hard to get a group picture, so here's the kids. Hazel, Kimball, Logan and Porter.

Then Logan decided to put everyone in a strangle hold while we got pictures so no one could walk away.

And here's the picture of the score. Yep the kid who didn't care kicked all of our behinds. I came in last, how sad is that? We had a lot of fun and definately want to get the bowling genes out of us before the only option is smoke filled bowling alleys.
One more piece of news, we sold our Kia on thursday and are now searching for a van. Those of you who have Dodge's on a scale of 1-10 how well do you like them?
