In case I forget

Logan was sitting at the table last night working on some school stuff when he said, "Mom, if we ever go to Utah again will you remind me to eat at Brick Oven?"
Me: Sure, why?
Logan: Thanks mom, I just don't want to forget.

A Pictureful October

These pictures aren't in order, but October has been a fun, busy month, and we still have a week of it. Friday night was Logan's school trunk or treat. We volunteered to pass out candy and decorate our car. It had rained all day and finally stopped just in time for the kids to trick or treat. Brandon took the boys and Olivia around and then went inside where there was more sugar. I passed out candy and once I finished I shut the trunk of our van and went around to lock it and get the keys out, to find that it had already been locked. Argh! So I went and found Brandon and he called a guy who said he'd be there in 15 minutes.... well 2 hours later he showed up. The party was over everyone was gone, we even were offered a ride home in a pink party girls limo, but both of our keys were in the van with our house keys and the guy said he would only be 15 minutes about a dozen times. It also started raining again, definately turned in to a crazy night.

Can you find Logan in this picture?

Olivia right after nap time.

Porter worked on the letter P last week and to end the week was able to have a pajama party. He had so much fun and loved wearing his jammies to school.

Beautiful trees that I drive through when I take Porter to school.
We've had a great month. Fall is one of our favorite times of year. The fall colors, the holiday's, the cooler weather, it's a great time.

Amazing!

Today we went to an art exhibit done at our church called "Reflections of Christ" http://www.reflectionsofchrist.org/ The Artist did an amazing job at photographing the events that he wanted and bringing out the images of what he wanted expressed. There was a video that showed how he did each photo and talked about what he was trying to bring out. After seeing the video we had to walk through again and see the pictures. The spirit there was great. It was a really good experience.

These are 2 of our favorites. Our boys enjoyed seeing the pictures too. We asked them what their favorites were and Logan said, "All of them!" and Porter said, "The Jesus ones!" We have very politically correct kids. I'm not "artsy" by any means but I thought this was an amazing art show and would definately love to own some of these pictures.

Olivia 9 Months

Our sweet angel girl is growing so big! She is now 9 1/2 months old and is doing something new every day it seems.
She loves to crawl! Every day she gets faster and faster. She has a fascination with the bathroom. She loves to go in there, not sure why, but that's her hotspot.
She's learning the "Cry Wolf" routine, where she'll cry until you pick her up, or put her down or give her what she wants and then is perfectly happy afterwards.

She's a pickey eater. If I give her something she doesn't like she spits it out and throws the rest of it on the floor. Then she'll go tight lipped and there's no more trying to get her to eat what she doesn't want to.
She hates shoes on her feet, she would much rather chew on them than wear them.
(She's trying her hardest to eat this apple, it was so funny!)
Brandon called this picture her "evil" picture. And guess what it's the one I ordered the 8x10 of.
A story of these pictures is, when we first got there she just sat there. She didn't smile, she just stared at me like what are you doing to me. After the photographer and I did our best at getting her to smile, by acting like crazy people, and not getting anywhere. I started to say "Da-da!" and sure enough right after I said those magic words she perked right up, got super excited and started smiling and playing as best she could. It's so fun to see how much she loves her "da-da!" and he her. I love it!
She will also only say his name when she's happy. Then when she's crying it's, "Mahm! Ma-ma!"
Her 9 month stats were: Length: 27 inches (25%), Weight: 18 lbs 13 oz (50%0), and head 44 1/2 cm (60%). She actually lost an ounce from her 6 month appointment. She had been sick the week before and hardly ate and pooped her little heart out, (I know everyone reading this wanted to know!) So the doctor wants to reweigh her in a few weeks to see that she's gaining again.

Guess What??

This little girl mastered the skill of crawling the day after grandma and papa left. Nothing is safe, and she absolutely loves it!

Do you notice anything different?
Brandon was mad!
I think it looks cute! Can you tell what I'm talking about?

Our week with Grandma and Papa Bishop

*** Warning, a lot of pictures below****
We were lucky enough to have Brandon's parent's come out this week. We had a lot of things planned, but sickness and weather got in the way of some it. Friday night, we went to downtown Detroit and watched the Tiger's game. Yep they lost, but we had amazing seats and the weather was perfect.

Even Olivia was great during the game. She was passed between grandma, dad and me, and she did just fine.

Saturday and Sunday, we pretty much stayed inside and watched General Conference. It was a really good conference, and my boys watched most of it. We played "Conference Bingo," to encourage them to listen. Monday morning we had planned on heading up to Mackinac Island, but at 2:30 am I heard Logan throwing up. About an hour later Porter started. They went back and forth about every 30 -40 minutes until around 6:30 am. We didn't know if we were still going to go. We decided to get some Zofran, and it helped. Our boys slept the entire way up.
When we first got there we decided to go across the Mackinac bridge which connects the upper and lower peninsulas of Michigan. We went into St. Ignace, ate dinner and walked along this board walk with a light house. It turned out to be really pretty scenery with the clouds and the sunset.

The next day we took the ferry over to Mackinac Island and spent most of the day there. We spent the majority of our time at Fort Mackinac which was used during the Revolution War. We made it to the island just in time. The people there said this was their last week before going home for the winter.

We went to the Grand Hotel and were planning on having lunch after we took this picture. Unfortunately, a lady informed us that to be standing where we were we needed to pay $10. It was a little ridiculous, so we went back by the docks and ate there. We walked around a lot, got some delicious fudge, salt and pepper shaker's, and a Christmas ornament.
I love light houses so here's another picture of one.

We went back to the lower peninsula and went to the light house there. We were able to go up in this one which was really cool.

This is the grand hotel from the ferry on our way back to the lower peninsula.

Before we came home, we went to Fort Michimackinac, a French and English fur trading fort used in the 1600-1700's. It was cool, probably a lot cooler if we had gone the week before. There were a few "colonial" people there to do the demonstrations. It was freezing! We had a busy and fun week. It's always lots of fun when we have visitor's come to our house.

Out of the mouth of Logan

The other night for family night we went and rode bikes. We didn't get home until late and as we walked in the door I told the boys to go and get their jammies on, brush their teeth, go potty and get to bed. Logan said Mom, "Aren't we going to read stories?"
Me: "Not tonight. It's too late."
Logan: "Not even scriptures?"
Me: "Nope, we need to get to bed."
Logan: "HOW AM I SUPPOSE TO LEARN THE GOSPEL THEN?"
Me: Speechless
