Our week with Grandma and Papa Bishop

*** Warning, a lot of pictures below****
We were lucky enough to have Brandon's parent's come out this week. We had a lot of things planned, but sickness and weather got in the way of some it. Friday night, we went to downtown Detroit and watched the Tiger's game. Yep they lost, but we had amazing seats and the weather was perfect.

Even Olivia was great during the game. She was passed between grandma, dad and me, and she did just fine.

Saturday and Sunday, we pretty much stayed inside and watched General Conference. It was a really good conference, and my boys watched most of it. We played "Conference Bingo," to encourage them to listen. Monday morning we had planned on heading up to Mackinac Island, but at 2:30 am I heard Logan throwing up. About an hour later Porter started. They went back and forth about every 30 -40 minutes until around 6:30 am. We didn't know if we were still going to go. We decided to get some Zofran, and it helped. Our boys slept the entire way up.
When we first got there we decided to go across the Mackinac bridge which connects the upper and lower peninsulas of Michigan. We went into St. Ignace, ate dinner and walked along this board walk with a light house. It turned out to be really pretty scenery with the clouds and the sunset.

The next day we took the ferry over to Mackinac Island and spent most of the day there. We spent the majority of our time at Fort Mackinac which was used during the Revolution War. We made it to the island just in time. The people there said this was their last week before going home for the winter.

We went to the Grand Hotel and were planning on having lunch after we took this picture. Unfortunately, a lady informed us that to be standing where we were we needed to pay $10. It was a little ridiculous, so we went back by the docks and ate there. We walked around a lot, got some delicious fudge, salt and pepper shaker's, and a Christmas ornament.
I love light houses so here's another picture of one.

We went back to the lower peninsula and went to the light house there. We were able to go up in this one which was really cool.

This is the grand hotel from the ferry on our way back to the lower peninsula.

Before we came home, we went to Fort Michimackinac, a French and English fur trading fort used in the 1600-1700's. It was cool, probably a lot cooler if we had gone the week before. There were a few "colonial" people there to do the demonstrations. It was freezing! We had a busy and fun week. It's always lots of fun when we have visitor's come to our house.

Yay! I love all the pictures. I am glad you were still able to do some fun things, even with sick people. Miss you all!
