My kids

Before blogging I regularly wrote in journals for each of my kids about milestones, quirks and funny things they said. Since blogging I don't really write in the journals as much and a lot of what I would write is being written here. So this is just an update about each of my kids and what their personalities are like these days...
Logan
It's been such a dramatic change from the first half of the school year to this half. He is catching on to reading really well now and it's fun to read with him. He's starting to become more "self aware" and gets a little more shy about things that a few months ago he wouldn't have given a second thought to doing it. I also see him becoming more confident in himself and standing his ground on things which for the most part I am grateful for. He's been doing karate since January and is loving it. He lost his 3rd tooth 2 days ago. He loves being opposite of everything that Brandon or I like. If he knows Brandon is cheering for a certain team he'll purposely cheer for the other team. He's going through a growth spurt this week and can't seem to get enough food in him. The other night he ate a 6 inch sandwich, 2 slices of pizza, a half a bag of chips, and yogurt. Yowza!

Porter AKA Trash-Talker
This picture pretty much sums up what he does when the heater kicks on. Since Christmas he talks non stop about Mario Kart and how he's going to kick your butt in it. He is constantly thinking about it. 9 out of 10 conversations revolve around that game. The 10th conversation is usually about a girl in his preschool class Mackenzie. Her name just puts a smile on his face:) Even with all of his trash talking he is very sensitive. When Brandon's parents left from here Brandon heard him in the back of the car say, "I'm not going to cry! I'm just gonna miss them so much!" Then when Brandon left this week he cried saying, "Daddy won't be a part of our family for 6 whole days! I'm going to miss him!" He also has got some great dance moves. The other day we were at the store and he found a mirror and the music was just right and he went all out for it dancing his little bum back and forth. It was hilarious!

Olivia
At this age there is so many changes going on with this little girl it's hard to keep up. When grandma was here she worked every day with Olivia on the stairs and Olivia now is able to go up and down without any problems which is so nice for me. I don't have to stress out about the stairs being blocked (we have wood stairs.) She is walking, slowly, and better each day. She loves to "dress" herself, meaning emptying out a clothes basket, drawer or towels and trying to put everything over her head. She also loves to show her belly or try to if she's wearing a onesie. She has a love of the phone and will try talking into it nonstop. The other day she was laying on her belly with the phone to her ear and kicking her legs, it was so funny. She also loves dancing and bobbing to music. She has a teddy bear that she absolutely loves and has to sleep with every nap and bedtime. She is just a happy little girl that pulls a little attitude every now and then:)

More Pictures from Papa

Here are some more random pictures that Papa took while they were out here. They're mostly from the Henry Ford Museum and just hanging out.

This was our Valentine Murder Mystery party. I'll post more about this later.

The green screen for MTV at the Henry Ford. You picked a music video and were able to dance in it. The boys, young and old loved it:)
Rosa Parks bus where history was made.
Logan and Porter in "jail" for womens rights. Man I'm glad I was born when I was.

Wienerschnetzal(?) Hot dog!

Papa and Grandma come to visit

We were lucky to have Brandon's parents come out here and visit us this last week. Brandon was able to take the whole week off as well. We had a lot of fun with them here, and as Porter repeatedly said today "I'm gonna miss you!" Despite the freezing Michigan weather we did a lot of fun things and seemed to stay busy. The boys had a snow day this week and we took advantage of the fresh snow and went sledding.
We also went to a Red Wings game. Porter was SUPER excited to go. It was a late game and so by the end of it he was near hysteria from chanting "Let's go Red Wings!" Over and over again. Unfortunately the Red Wings lost in a shoot out, but it was a so much fun to be there.

Logan, being the "independent" thinker he is cheered for the Sharks and was very excited that they won.

We did the home depot kid's workshop one day, we went to the Henry Ford Museum, we made sugar cookies twice, we went to the outlet mall and played at the play area. We went out to eat and Grandma and Papa took the kids on some walks. But I think the thing Papa and Grandma liked the best, next to spending time with the kids was playing the Wii. And Logan and Porter loved "showing" them how to play it.

We feel lucky that we have family who is willing to come to the freezing North Midwest instead of warm sunny places and visit us. We had so much fun!
