We went to Utah for the last 4 weeks. There was a wedding, family reunion, fishing, hiking, running, jumping, parading, dancing and lots and lots of fun.
Skyler and Mandy were married in the Timpangos Temple on June 15, 2012. It was a beautiful wedding and reception. The nephews all got together to be the "greeters". Every time someone walked up they would say, "Thanks for coming to Skyler and Mandy's wedding may I take your present?" They were all really cute and it kept them busy.
There was dancing the last part of the reception and it was a lot of fun to see the kids especially get out and boogie.
Whenever we go to Papa and Grandma Bishops house the kids convince papa to get the 4-wheeler out. The kids all love riding on it and going to see the cows and whatever else they can find. Evan and Whitney were up the first part of the trip and it was a lot of fun seeing them and their cute kiddo's.
We spent an afternoon at the Gateway up in Salt Lake at the Chalk Art Festival. Batman and Iron Man were there as well.
One of the most fun things was going to Fish Lake with the Bishop side of the family. I absolutely LOVED seeing the JOY in my boys faces as they fished, and got to know their uncles, dad, and papa a little bit better. The minute we got there they fished, and then all day the next day and half the day after that.
Papa rented a boat and one fished the whole time the other gave little boat rides. It is BEAUTIFUL up there. We loved it!
We were able to spend one last hurrah with the Arrhenius family before they left for Oregon:(
We spent some time in St. George and Beth and Thomas's time share. I took my kids to see the St. George temple to to walk around it. It really is a beautiful temple. While I enjoyed visiting I definetly realized I couldn't ever live in St. George, too crowded.
Swimming in St. George
We did a baby shower for Summer and her Little Man. It was fun to do and it was fun to see cousins that I hadn't seen in a while.
We went bowling again with Beth's kids and my cousin Emily's kids. Sweet little Grace was blessed while we were there. Also when we were in Fish Lake we went and found my Grandpa Peterson's grave in Richfield UT.
On our way back from Utah we caravanned with Beth and Thomas, Jami and her kids and my mom. We were a site to see:) We stopped one night in Nauvoo and saw a few things. We went and walked around Old Nauvoo, and the temple. It's such a pretty place.
Everyone stopped at my house for a few days as well. We went swimming, bowling and crawdad catching.
When we were in St. George we went to Tuachan and saw Aladdin. It was a lot of fun, but by intermission Olivia had had enough. When we got back to the hotel she had a ROYAL melt down. I don't think I'll keep her out that late again.
Logan, Porter, Papa Bishop and I hiked the Y early one morning. It was beautiful, but super steep. I quickly realized how out of shape I am. Logan, Porter and Papa practically ran up it. We were able to see the hot air balloons going up for the 4th of July celebration.
To prove just how out of shape I was again, we ran a 1 mile race with Thomas and Savannah. Everyone ran way ahead of me and got really good times. I love doing things like that with my family even if I'm not very good at it. The boys loved it and I think we'll try to do at least one short race every year.
We loved being able to spend time in Utah with family and friends. But it was hard being away from home for that long as well. It was the best of times...
