Olivia

Olivia seems to learn something new everyday. Today she has learned to clap and loves to do it. She has also started to learn to blow kisses, so cute.

Simple Gratitude

Logan is sick, the flu, (so far a pretty mild flu, but the flu nonetheless.) Yesterday I took Logan to the doctor and as we walked out the door Olivia crawled over to the door and was boucing up and down with her face plastered to the window. I waved and then went to get in the car and noticed Logan through his red, watery, flu eyes light up just a little at his baby sister, smile, and wave. My heart melted at this simple sweet act. My kids really love each other and find true joy in being with each other.

Since Logan is sick Porter has taken on the role of "Care Taker of Logan." He is constantly getting him food, toys, movies, sprite, treats, etc... for the most part Logan isn't asking for these things. It's just in Porter's nature to worry about his brother and make sure that he has all the things he may or may not need at the moment.

"She's my sister..."

The title of this post comes from a little Joy School song my sister and I use to sing together and have a pretty funny video tape of. She came out here to see me and my family for a couple of days and we loved having her here. On Sunday we took a little sunday drive out to Port Huron and saw the light house and tried skipping rocks into the lake. It was such a gorgeous, fun day.

When I'm around my sister's the time is spent mostly by eating, staying up late talking, and laughing our heads off. Sometimes I'm amazed we can still laugh our heads off at certain things that happened so long ago and still have so many things to talk about.

(I love this picture of Porter and Olivia looking at eachother and laughing so cute!)
My kid's adore Summer and her fun personality. She's the type of aunt who will play the kid games and play with my kid's and not just watch. She's not afraid to get her hands dirty.

(Summer taught the boys how to skip stones on the lake.)

I'm very protective of my family and Summer is no exception. My little sister is such an amazing girl. I have always looked up to her even when we were younger I looked up to her and her strength, ambition and confidence that she's always seemed to have. She was my partner in crime when we were little. She was the one who would stay up all night on Christmas Eve to help me catch Santa, and later caught our parents instead. She was the one who would go and pinch our older sister's guy friends butts. We've gone through hard situations together and have laughed so hard that we've peed our pants. I love having sisters and feel so lucky to have her and my older sister in my life.

6 years ago today...

I sat in a hospital bed feeling like I had been hit by a bus and unable to hold my brand new baby. Logan was in NICU and would continue to be in there for the next 10 days. He was hooked up to feeding tubes, respirators, heart monitors and every other kind of machine you could think of. It was a lot to handle to see this little baby, (a giant in the NICU though at 10 lbs) so new to the world and not be able to hold him, kiss him and whisper "I love you's." Brandon and his dad gave him a blessing on this day 6 years ago that he would recover and be healthy and as you can tell that blessing came true. Logan was able to come home right before Thanksgiving. That year we felt truly blessed.
(2 months old)
It is hard for me to believe that this little guy is now 6. He is such an amazing kid, he's a patient big brother who takes care of his brother and sister.

(1 year old)

He loves playing Lego's and going to school. His favorite part of school is recess because "they can like play and stuff."
When he grows up he wants to be a fireman. His favorite color: "all of them"
His favorite book is: Duck on a bike

Logan had his friend birthday party last night and it was Lego themed. We played Leog bingo, pin the lego sign on the lego brick, Lego Agent scavenger hunt, and then Lego Guy pinata, ( I was a little sad that it was destroyed:) He has a great group of church friends and had a great time.

Logan we love you, and are so glad that you are in our family!

Halloween 2009

I said to myself, "this year we'll keep it simple!" With the boys in 2 different schools, church parties and the actual holiday itself, simple was out the door. The last 3 days have been jammed packed, with sugar induced fun.
Logan's kindergarten class walked across the street on friday in their costumes and went trick or treating at the gas company here in Royal Oak. (The pile of candy in the middle is his loot from that adventure.) He came home and pulled out his bag of candy and I about died. It would have taken me hours of walking through springville and mapleton to get that much candy and he did it all in about an hour. He was so proud of his pile too.
Friday night was also our ward Trunk or treat which is always a fun thing to go and do. It's fun to see ward member's let loose and dress up. We did have a couple of interesting costumes that I wish I would have gotten pictures of. One couple were Adam and eve and wore skin colored costumes with leaves in the appropriate, or inappropriate places, you decide. 3 car's were handing out full size candy bars and Porter came home with 6. He quietly walked back and forth through the cars and came home with a ton of candy. So we sorted through the candy and threw out the kinds that aren't worth having and I bought some of the good kind from them to put away for a rainy day for me:)

Grandma Bishop sent us a Halloween package and insdie was this "totally awesome Spider Man oufit." Porter immediately stripped down and put this one on and wore it the next day as well.

We went a got pumpkins to carve and toasted pumpkin seeds which I had never done before.

I absolutely love the fall background for any pictures outside. I especailly of love the orange of pumpkins, I just think it's so pretty.

On thursday Porter got to have a Halloween party in his preschool class. His costume was dirty from Logan's school trunk or treat, so luckily his costume from last year fit him and he was happy as a plum to be wearing it. Although he was pretty sweaty when school was over.
So to say the least I'm happy that Halloween is over and looking forward to November, one of my favorite months of the year.
