Oh what do you do in the Summer time??

Some of the things we've been doing this summer break so far are going to the beach. Olivia is a natural little beach bum:)

Logan and Maddie at the beach. Logan loves to get others wet, but doesn't like others to get him wet.

Our friends the Kovac's have a canoe and Porter was able to go on a ride in it. He thought it was the greatest thing to go exploring in.

Brandon was able to be home for Father's day. We had a great day with him and just love him so much.

We went to a concert in the park. It was a Beatles cover band. Only here in Metro Detroit would you see an Aftrican American beatle:) The kids and I had a great time though. The boys played and danced, and Olivia just danced.

Porter has got some great dance moves, he just cracks me up.

Last day of school

Today was (finally) Logan's last day of Kindergarten. It's been an amazing year full of learning and growth for my sweet boy. He told me he was a "little sad" that he was done with Kindergarten. But he is super excited to be in first grade. Some of his friends are going to different schools next year, so when he found out that most were going to first grade with him he said they all gave high fives:)

This is a picture of him and his teacher at the first of the school year. She's moving up to 2nd grade and so Porter won't have her next year. Logan and Porter are both sad that she won't be able to have Porter in her class next year.

This was today, right before he almost missed the bus. I think Logan is really excited to be able to sleep in during the summer. This last week was really rough on him and getting up in the morning. Time just seems to be flying by, it's crazy!

For a last day of school activity. Our good friends the Arrhenieus' invited us to go swimming at their neighbors pool. It was so much fun and the kids all loved it, even Olivia.

These two little girls are turning out to be good friends. They are so cute together.

All I can say is Welcome Summer!

More from Utah, the last half...

We got back from Utah on Tuesday night and with coming home came sleepless nights, and sickness. Last night Porter said his ear was hurting him and to cope he decided he hated all of his clothes and threw them all from his drawers into his closet, this was at midnight right after we had just gotten Olivia to sleep who kept crying because of her molars coming through. I took Porter to the doctor and he has ear infections and impintigo (sp) and strep, (sorry family in Utah if you get it.)

Beside the drama of coming home we had a great trip in Utah. We were busy seeing family and playing with cousins, grandma's, papa's, Aunts and Uncles. What we wouldn't give to live just a little bit closer.
The boys helped grandma Peterson laying wood chips down and spreading them out.
Summer and I learned how to pogo stick at my dad's.
After a hectic car ride of trying to find an address we went and had a girls night out and got pedicures, listened to the dashed dreams and hopes of the pedicurists who did our toes and went out to dinner:)
We went to Thanksgiving Points petting farm. The kids loved running around with Chad and seeing the animals. We put the kids on the horses and they were all super excited until they started moving. Porter started to freak out, I was holding Olivia on another horse and couldn't do anything. But luckily he calmed down and by the end loved it enough to go again.
Does he look nervous?
Logan speaking words of encouragement to his horse. He learned that in one of the Magic Tree House Books we read:)
The kids climbed trees at Grandmas.
Went for a ride on Summer's scooter, and slept over at her apartment and had so much fun poking Nielson in the eye with a giant crayon. That's the story they kept telling me about:)
Porter and Colton were reunited buddies.
Savannah loved playing with Olivia and she loved playing with Vanna.
We had a shower for our soon to be sister in law Hailey who we (my family and I) just love.
Marker and Bishop Cousins, aren't they cute!

And the boys talked papa into going and looking for the "hand" in the field, (it's a manican hand that was there a few years ago.) They weren't able to find the hand but had a blast riding "Roley."

Olivia cried when the boys left on the 4-wheeler and then cried again when she was able to have a turn on it:)

Nate came the last weekend we were there, but I didn't get a picture with him in it. It was really good to see him though. It was a busy 10 days and we loved every minute of it. Except for the Porter getting sick part:)

Days 1, 2, and 3 in Utah (going backwards)

We are out here in Utah for a little fun and are having a blast. My pictures aren't in order but they go through what we've been doing these last few days.
Grandma and Grandpa Higbee came down to the Bishop's for a Memorial Day bbq. It was really good to see them. Logan and Porter played with LaMar tossing the ball back and forth and trying to lay his chair down for him. He was a good sport to play with them.
Olivia loves the dirt, she loves walking around in Papa's garden and justing seeing what's what in there. We got a little wading pool to play in and she absolutely hated it, and stayed as far away from it as she could.

It took her a little bit to warm up to people but she finally is starting to.

Summer came and hung out with us in the wading pool before the bbq started.

In the morning we went and saw great grandma Bishop at the care center she's at. The kids loved racing around the rose garden and Grandma loved watching them. It was really good to see her.

Eating cupcakes after sunday dinner. Olivia doesn't like the grass as you can tell by her leg being held up in each of these pictures of her on the grass.
But she loved the cupcake:)

We went with my mom to visit the cemeteries and put flowers out for Memorial day. Logan kept calling the graves, groves. And Porter felt a "true" loss for these ancestors that he has never met saying, "I really miss that grandma and papa." In his sad voice.
Logan was realling interested in reading the headstones. When we talked about why we celebrate Memorial day he was shocked and amazed he has 2 great grandpa's that served in the WWII. He then said "maybe I'll be a soldier when I get big."
We're having a great time being out here with our family. Truly one of the hardest things about living away is that we don't get to see our family enough.
