Random Thoughts

Warning this is mostly for journaling purposes and is going to be random.

So since finding out that we're having a girl, which I am very excited about. I realized how overwhelming it is going to be in just buying things for her. Yes, she's not even here yet and I'm overwhelmed by her or by having a girl. I wanted to buy some cute little dress for her and then when I went to go look it was like, "how do I decide?" I want her to look cute and pretty, but what if I make her look like a dweeb? There's just too many options for girls, I've been so used to having just t-shirts and polo's for boys and now there's millions of choices. So I haven't really found much, but I did find the bedding that I want for her crib. It's at Target, it's pink and brown with flowers and other things on it and I'm going to save up for it and get it.

Our boys are totally excited about having a baby and even more excited now since it will be a girl. I've woken up a few times with Porter laying his head on my belly singing "I am a Child of God", and "Popcorn Popping on the Apricot Tree" for the baby. It is one of the cutest things ever. He also says that he wants to "listen" to the baby. He'll put his head on my belly and tell me she's sleeping, or blowing spit bubbles, or if she's sad or happy. Today he asked me if the baby was going to like him, when I reassured him that she would he said, "I'm going to be the best big brother."

Logan has taken on the role to tell me when the baby is growing, aka mommy's belly is getting bigger. He doesn't quietly tell me when we're alone or anything, that would be too nice. This usually happens at the store or library and he'll yell, "Mommy, your baby's growing!" He is also taking the role of being a "great helper" to heart. I think he might be turning a little OCD. He loves to help pick up and won't let Porter help. Yes that's right he won't let Porter, no matter how much Porter wants to help. Logan will tell him to go and do something else, he's very good at redirecting Porter to somewhere else. Another thing is Logan saw a commercial for St. Judes Childrens Hospital, those tear jerking ones. It traumatized him for a couple of weeks, he kept telling me, "mom kids aren't suppose to die, they just need to go to St. Judes hospital." He would tell me this a couple of times a day for the first couple of weeks. It seems to have gotten better now, but if kids are sick or anything he'll bring up St. Judes hospital.

Yeah yeah yeah!! A girl. I am so excited for you. What a joy to have a sweet little girl spirit in your home. It sounds like your boys are wonderful. You will have to give me tips. I am so happy it's a girl. I have 3 nieces so I am good at shopping for girl stuff. What do ya need? What's your address? Hooray again.
Love ya and congrats.

you have very sweet little boys, each in their own way. I'm sure your daughter will be adorable no matter what you put her in. It's when she starts dressing herself that you have to worry about the dweeb factor. Gracie is finally (after almost 2 years) starting to dress like a normal person.

Yeah, a girl!!! That is so great. I am excited for you. I am sure that she will be beautiful. I wouldn't worry about buying anything just yet, you will probably get a lot from family and friends and then you may end up with to many things.

You're so cute... you aren't going to make her look like a dweeb! Girls are fun to dress up and there are a lot of fun things out there to buy. I love Children's Place... they have some awesome sales. Cute stories about your boys. Hannah and I sing to our baby too... but Hannah usually likes me to do the singing while she puts her hand on my belly.

You have the cutest boys!!! What tender stories!! You'll be so glad you wrote those down!! Proof for the future that yes... he DID tell you he was going to be the BEST BIG BROTHER!!... now stop hitting your sister! (not that that has happened to us here....???)

So aside from the adorable boys.... AHHHH!!! A GIRL!!! I am so super excited!! I thought for sure you were having a boy! I can't wait to hear more of Brandon's reactions! I"m sure he's just in shock!! AHH! I love it! Congrats!! The shopping thing will be a curse from now on.

The biggest change for me when I had Kaila was the laundry. I had NEVER in my life washed so much PINK!! It was great! I never wore pink... EVER. Kaila definitely pulled the pink out of me! I love it now! Now we have so much pink between the three of us, most loads are pink with only a few "dull neutral colors" for the boys.

CONGRATS you guys!! I am so happy for you!!!

I'm a little behind, but congrats on adding a girl to your family. When I think that I'm having a girl I start to get a little worried about the fact that you need a lot of new stuff for girls.

That is so sweet about Porter laying on your belly and singing and talking to the baby. You have such good boys. As for dressing the little girl, it's easy. Everything you think is cute is going to be cute on her. I find myself wishing I could buy it all. I guess that is why I have way too many baby clothes. I should send you the ones that you gave to me before Alyssa was born. Let me know if you are interested.

Soo sweet, I cannot beleive how cute Logan and Porter are. I'm glad that you wrote those stories down. It sounds like Porter will be so excited for the new baby. It also sounds like Logan is turning into Brandon. (Just teasing Brandon) You are going to love having a little doll to dress up. Sometimes I still change Hazel's clothes like 3 times before I decide on an outfit for the day. There are so many accessories for girls that boys don't have. It is just a blast, it like playing house all over again! Tell Brandon to stop being nervous about a girl, because he is going to LOVE having a daughter. That big tough Brandon is going to go all gooey over a little girl.
