Ba-boom, Ba-boom, Ba-boom (heart beat)

Today was my first doctor's appointment and I was able to finally hear the heart beat. Yes I should have seen the doctor a month ago, but we had no insurance. So I'm 14 weeks and due January 10th, so far. I go again on August 7th for the fun appointment to find out if it's a he or a she. I have no thoughts as to it's sex, but either way I will be very excited. One funny thing that reminds you that your not in Utah anymore is when at the OBGYN office there's a sign that says very boldly, "Due to the pregnant patients safety, please do not bring children with you to your appointment." I was a little shocked by that and very glad that my friend Sharina was willing to watch my busy boys. I also got a belly pat while I was there, don't know if I'm ready for that.

Brandon's been busy at work. He is enjoy's what he's doing, I think he's ready to have a day off though. When he get's his next day off he'll have worked 19 days in row. I know no sympathy from those who have gone through this, it's just part of being a part of the "real" world right?!
The boys are doing great. Sweet little Porter was so cute this morning. I lost my breakfast this morning and he was right there when I did. He came and gave me a big hug and patted my back and said "you'll be okay mommy, it's okay!" What a sweet heart. The other day we were eating popcicles and Logan said, "My popcicle is banana (yellow), mommy's is blue berry (blue), and Porter's is SALAD (green)." Love my boys.

If your not a twilight fan you can skip this part. I decided that since there is about 3 weeks to the release of Breaking Dawn I'm going to read a book a week to get back into the story, so it's fresh in my mind. I'm very excited.

What health risk do children pose to pregnant women? I could have used that sign at my midwife's office, I ended up taking Gracie with me to nearly every appt.
Congrats on the little heart beat. I hope you get feeling better very soon.

I can't believe they have a sign about not bringing children- that's crazy. I would have been shocked too. I am excited for Breaking Dawn too!!

oh- and I DO have sympathy for you with the residency thing - - so far it hasn't been too bad for us- but he does OB in a month and THAT will be bad. I also remember my dad being in his Podiatry residency- it was super hard and he was gone all the time . . . just hang in there! I hope you start feeling better soon too . . .

The only really good parts of being prego is the ultrasounds, and the kicking, but mostly the ultrasounds. Very pumped for Book 4! I just read your comment on my blog. I think my family is so layed back that everyone just gets along and noone fights, even the kids. It's great, just short of a miracle really! Good luck, things will get easier, but not necessarily anytime soon! You are wonder woman!

I love hearing the heartbeat! I'm glad you finally got to go to the doctor's. I voted for girl, but that's mostly just because that's what I think I'm having. Good luck with Porter and potty training!
