Weekly Update

We've been having fun and enjoying what feels like the last few weeks of summer. Last week for our ward's play group we met at the beach. We've had 7 new families move in this summer, and it's upped the play group quite a bit. There are a handful of babies that are all within a few months of Olivia, so there usually is someone to talk to in the nursing room at church. Anyway, here are a few of the bathing beauties all born within a month of each other.

Do you ever feel the need to make sure that all of your kids have a picture in the posts? I do, but I also love to talk about my kiddos. Porter has decided that he has to get up at 5:45 am the last 2 days. Today though it finally showed. He lost it! Full on scream, kick and cry your little head off. It was all for no other reason than he dropped his water bottle lid on the floor in the van and couldn't pick it up. So he came home and unwillingly took a nap. After he woke up he sheepishly said he felt better, go figure!

As you can see in this picture, no training wheels. This has been the major "project" of the last few days. Everyday we go out and work on riding. Today he finally was able to do it all by himself until I went and got the camera. So I took this picture of him standing by his bike, and once he's really good at riding I'll get another one. It is so much fun to see him succeed and to see him feel good about accomplishing something. One of my favorite things as a mom is seeing my kids have those moments where they feel good about their accomplishments. Porter has said that he is learning too, but he won't hardly even get on his bike. He loved it when we first got it and then fell off the next day at the park. Now when he goes he wants Brandon or I to hold on to his bike while he is constantly putting the breaks on and saying, "Whoa! I don't want to do it!" It's a process right. He'll get over this fear right? Hopefully seeing Logan ride will make him want to do it more and not be afraid.
Then my major project was making this dress for Olivia. I got a pattern that I can reuse, and it goes up to 5T. So every year she'll have a little summer dress. It was so easy to make, and I learned a few new tricks which is always fun too. Porter took this picture of her standing up, not the best quality, but you work with what you've got.
Here's the Little Miss letting me take her picture. She has started avoiding the camera when I have it out and refuses to look up at me until I put it down.

She's sitting up so good! And yeah for Logan with no training wheels! Those girls are all so darling at the beach and Olivia can have some fun little princess friends since her brothers won't be helping her in that past time:)
