Conversations with my boys

We were driving to the grocery store to grab a few things when my kids noticed other kids playing at the park. "Please mom, can we play at the park today?"

Mom: If you're good at the store we can play at the park.

boys: Okay, we will be good!

As soon as we get out of the car they start chasing, poking, teasing, etc... I put Porter in the basket, they are still teasing and being silly.

Mom: Guys, knock it off!

Porter: (Yelling), I can't go to the park, (Waaaaa!)

Mom: (Roll my eyes) Who said you can't go to the park??

Porter: I can't!! (Yelling, Waaaaa! Literally he screamed Waaaa after each time we talked.)
Mom: (Trying not to laugh) We can still go to the park if you guys just knock it off and we can just grab our stuff and go.

Porter: (Through sniffles), Okay mom, I will be a good boy! I forgive you!

Yes Porter is very dramatic, makes life very interesting at times.

I had picked Logan up from preschool and was asking him how his day went. There's only one other boy in his class and then 6 girls. He tells me each time he goes how they always have to wait on the girls to get dressed, after swimming. I told him to get used to it. Anyways the converstation went like this.

Mom: So who did you play with today?

Logan: I only played with my friend, the rest are girls!

Mom: You can play with girls, they're fun too.

Logan: No mom, boys can only play with boys and girls can only play with girls.

Mom: You can play with everyone, it's fun to have lot's of friends.

Logan: Mom, if I talked to the girls I would FREAK out! (Starts shaking his head and showing me how he would freak out.)

Mom: Well just be nice to everyone! (sigh)

I love the way that you blogged those darling conversations. I am going to try and do that sometime. It is quite priceless when you have those fun conversations that bring a smile to your day. When I read about Porter's dramatic reaction about not going to the park it just makes me miss you guys all the more.
